Quotations and challans
Quotations
Send a price as a PDF with an expiry date. When the customer agrees, the bill is made from that quotation — nothing typed twice.
- VAT, discount and service charges included
- PDF, sendable on WhatsApp
- One step from agreed quotation to bill
Challans
Goods now, bill later — that is what a challan is for. Stock sent on a challan is held separately, so what is in the shop stays correct.
- One step from challan to bill
- Returns put the stock back
- Which challan became which bill is recorded
Numbering that looks after itself
Quotations, challans, bills, purchases and money receipts each get their own series and run in order. Working from several devices does not tangle them.
Questions
- Do goods on a challan count as sold?
- No. Until there is a bill it is not a sale, so it stays out of the day's takings.
- What happens when a quotation expires?
- Expired quotations are listed separately and can be reissued.
